Children's mouths are constantly growing and developing. Specialist pedodontic care addresses far more than clean teeth it shapes a lifetime of dental health and confidence.
Treatment Process
A clear step-by-step overview of how the treatment is planned and performed, from the initial consultation to the final results, ensuring comfort, safety, and predictable outcomes.
01
The First Visit (Around Age 1)
We recommend the first dental visit around your child's first birthday or when the first tooth appears. The focus is entirely on building trust a gentle examination, a conversation about habits and diet, and a fluoride varnish application. No drills, no pressure, no fear.
02
Preventive Care Every 6 Months
Regular check-ups every six months allow us to monitor growth, clean the teeth, apply fluoride treatments, and place sealants on newly erupted molars. These visits are the single most powerful tool for preventing childhood decay.
03
Behaviour Management
We use the "tell-show-do" approach explaining, demonstrating, then proceeding combined with distraction techniques, positive reinforcement, and where appropriate, nitrous oxide sedation. Children advance at their own pace; we never rush a reluctant child.
04
Orthodontic Screening (Age 6–7)
Once permanent teeth begin erupting, we perform orthodontic screenings to detect early signs of crowding, bite problems, or jaw discrepancies. Interceptive appliances like expanders can resolve issues at this stage that would otherwise require complex treatment as a teenager.
05
Building Independent Oral Health
As children grow, we transition from parent-guided care to teaching your child directly brushing techniques, flossing habits, dietary choices, and the "why" behind healthy routines. Our goal is a teenager who genuinely understands and owns their oral health.
